James Ray Wilber, 64, passed away on September 13, 2018 at Rosa Villa Assisted Living Center in Topeka, Kansas.  James was born on December 26, 1953 in Belleville, Kansas to Charles and Ruth (Fraser) Wilber.
James grew up on his family’s dairy farm in Belleville, Kansas. He graduated from Belleville High School in 1971. After high school he joined the Army and served for 6 years. He served in peace time missions in Germany and South Korea. After the service he enjoyed traveling and living in the country he served.
James is survived by his parents, Charles and Ruth Wilber of Belleville, his three sisters, Rebecca (Craig) Lewis of Wichita, Charlotte (Blake) Sullivan of Wichita, Susan (Zach) Thomas of Lawrence and one brother, Dan (Marti) Wilber of Belleville, four nieces, five nephews, and many other beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Rose Villa and the Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center of Topeka for their wonderful and compassionate care. Memorial contributions may be made to either of these organizations or to a charity of the donor's choice.

A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
