Obituary for Kenneth Manuel Anderson Sr.

Pastor Kenneth Manuel Anderson Sr., 84, of Topeka, Kansas, went home to be the Lord on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born August 2, 1934 in Topeka, Kansas to his parents, Earl and Julia (Coleman) Anderson.

Kenneth attended Topeka High School and joined the Army at the age of 16. He was employed with Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing and later Goodyear Tire and Rubber before retiring. Rev. Anderson was actively involved in the Kaw Valley District Laymen Movement for many years. He was baptized at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church at a young age and was a faithful member until his death. He served as Pastor of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church for approximately nine years.

Kenneth was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Earl and Julia Anderson; his daughter, Anikka Anderson; two brothers, Earl and Tolly Anderson and two sisters, Marian Maples and Vera Jean Anderson.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Letha Anderson of the home; sons, Kenneth (Carolyn) Anderson Jr. (Dallas, TX); daughters, Andrea Anderson (Topeka, KS), Angala Anderson (Topeka, KS); stepchildren, Jerome Collins (Topeka, KS), James (Etta) Weekley (Gilbert, AZ), Marsha Boaten (Douglasville, GA); brothers, Joseph (Gladys) Anderson (Phoenix, AZ), Manual A. (Iris) Anderson (Coffeyville, KS); sisters, Barbara (Irvin) Huske (Topeka, KS), Karen "KK" Anderson Johnson (Topeka, KS); grandson, Trey Christian Anderson; step-grandson, Jeffrey Bevins; step-daughters, Akua Washington and Abena Sackey; 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
