The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Karen Tyler can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Susie Shipley
Condolence: My heart is very heavy today, learning that God has called Karen home. We both worked at The Ohio State University, Geological Sciences/School of Earth Sciences. I can not think of a kinder, thoughtful person. I can’t ever remember hearing anything negative come from her. She had no problem giving you a helping hand at work and outside of work.

I know that Karen loved her family. She last contacted me when her Mom and Aunt went to heaven within days of each other. Now God has called her home to join them. For the family, I offer my condolences. Karen was an angel her on earth.

Condolence From: Maurice Shipley
Condolence: Karen, I came to know you through my wife, Susie, who worked with you. I truly valued our friendship. I remember how saddened you were when you “lost” your little dog/friend” You said to me: “Maurice, I thought we were going to grow old together.” I felt your pain. Now, I will say what is on the poem and picture of my own, “lost” little fella: “ so be strong without me. One day we’ll meet once more. For when you’re called to heaven, i’ll be waiting at the door.”
Now, the two of you will never grow old. Every day will be New and joyous. Have a happy eternity!.
