Eliza “Diane” Bowman was the born April 28, 1954 the seventh of thirteen children to Booker T. Chambers Sr. and Myrtle B. Chambers. She was baptized at an early age at her home church, Buford Colony Church of God in Christ.
Diane, as everyone affectionately called her attended Charles Page High School in Sand Springs, Oklahoma graduating in 1972. She continued her education at Tulsa Junior College receiving her degree in business, she also served her country in the Army Reserves.
Diane met and married the late James Bowman and to this union one child, Corey James Bowman was born.
She worked for Phillips Petroleum and American National Power for many years before accepting employment at St. John Private School in Houston, Texas for over twenty years before retiring. Honoring her mother’s last wish, she moved to Topeka to be close to her sisters.
Diane passed away on October 9, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Corey James Bowman Jr.; two brothers, Bobby Joe and Booker T. Chambers Jr.
She leaves to mourn her passing son, Corey James Bowman, Sr. (Topeka, KS); granddaughters, ShaCoria Bowman, Malaya Bowman, and Courtney Bowman all of (Houston, TX); sisters, Brenda Maxville, Lynda Chambers, Hannah Abbott, Rochelle Chambers and Kenyatta Chambers all of (Topeka, KS); brothers, Robert (Patricia) Chambers (Tulsa, OK), Donnell (Robin) Chambers (Tulsa, OK), Steve (Gwendolyn) Chambers (Dallas, TX), Byron (Tanja) Chambers (Mansfield, TX) and David (Kimberly) Chambers (Sand Springs, OK) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends who love her and will miss her.
