Olivia Octavia Fitzgerald (Crith)
Olivia Octavia Crith Fitzgerald was born on January 10, 1929 to DeWitt Clyde Crith and Frances Ware Crith. She passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Topeka, Kansas.

Mrs. Fitzgerald attended Buchanan and McKinley Elementary Schools as well as Boswell Junior High and Topeka High schools in Topeka. She worked various jobs which included Pelletier’s Department Store and St. Francis Hospital during the early 50s' until the early 70s'. Shortly after the 1966 tornado, she found employment with the City of Topeka as one of the last switchboard operators until moving on to Shawnee County. This is where she learned the new PBX operator console system. After retirement, she became involved in the Topeka LULAC Senior Center for over 10 years.

Olivia enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, arts and crafts and working on all kinds of puzzles, in particular, crypto quotes in the newspaper. She loved family functions, especially family dinners. She also loved the Lord and the church. Olivia was active as an usher, participated in prayer groups and was a very strong prayer intercessor. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and later attended Faith Family Life Center. At her passing she was a member of the Topeka Revival Assembly Church where she enjoyed her studies.

Olivia was first married to Arnold D. Fitzgerald, Sr., with whom she had four children. She later married Thomas J. "TJ" Stovall, Sr. and inherited a step-son. They would eventually divorce.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Arnold D. (Sherry) Fitzgerald, Jr., of Kansas City, Missouri and Gerald D. Fitzgerald of Lubbock, Texas; daughters, Joyce L. Payne and Tanya R. Turner both of Topeka, Kansas; stepson, Thomas “Tom” (Sharon) Stovall, Jr.; five grandchildren; four great-grand children; brother, Wayne Crith and sister, Naomi Henderson, both of Topeka, Kansas and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Olivia is preceded in death by her father, DeWitt Clyde Crith; mother, Frances Ware Crith; two brothers, Juan Cortez Crith and Killmon Clyde Crith, and one sister, Loretta Wilder.
