Condolence: Mattie was my dear friend and the perfect example of the Bible reference to 'cast your bread upon the waters'. She sustained me in life and the lessons and kindness she gave me will continue to sustain me. She was one of a kind.

Condolence: Mattie was a special person in my family's life. She was an assistant cook at the Delta Gamma house when my mother was in the chapter and then she was my cook for my 4 years while living in the sorority house.

Mattie and I would talk about sewing when we saw each other in later years.

I was proud to be part of her initiation ceremony into Delta Gamma.

Mattie was an integral part of the Alpha Kappa Chapter of Delta Gamma.

Condolence: To Odell Tootsie and Richard. Please accept my offer of condolence for your mother Mattie. She was a wonderful lady and friend. I had the privilege to meet her several years ago. Lean on Jesus during your hour of sorrow. May He give you comfort in knowing she’s with Him. God bless you all.

Condolence: To the family of Mrs Johnson. I would like to offer condolences to you all. Mrs Johnson was a true fiend and wonderful classy lady. I unfortunately I never had the pleasure to actually taste her cinnamon rolls but just hearing about them made my mouth water. Odell, Wilma and Richard hold onto God’s unchanging hand and May you find comfort in His love during this time of sorrow. God bless you all.

Condolence: My condolences are with Mattie's family and friends. I lived in the DG house from 1973 to 1976 and Mattie was always fun to be around. Her cinnamon rolls were the best (as good as my grandmother's). I am so happy Mattie was initiated as a DG. I know that meant the world to her. Again, my prayers and thoughts are with her family and friends.

Condolence: Mattie was one-in-a-million. She knew when we needed a mom or when we needed a friend. She impacted so many of us at the DG House; always in positive ways. We are all richly blessed to have known her.

Condolence: Mattie was truly a special person. I’m thankful that I had the opportunity to know Mattie. My years in the house ‘82-‘86 Mattie was always there for you. I’m glad that I can also call her a sister and a friend. She will be missed. But God will be having some awesome cinnamon rolls.
