Obituary for Lillie Mae King (Harris)

Lillie Mae "Doll Baby" Harris - King, was born Sunday, August 20, 1944 in Topeka, Kansas to John and Fannie Harris.

“Doll Baby” attended Topeka Public Schools. Graduating from Topeka High School, she joined True Vine Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age.

She trained as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a cook in various nursing homes. She loved to cook and sing in the church choir.

Lillie had many different hobbies up until her health began to fail.

Lillie was preceded in death by one son, Roy Hardy; parents, John Harris and Fannie Harris; six brothers, Major, Newt, Rev. John Sr., Edward, Lester, Richard Sr. Harris; four sisters, Ida Harris - White, Cora Harris - Carr, Venus Harris - Roberts, Ula Mae Harris, a set of twin siblings that died at birth.

Lille is survived by seven children, Yvonne (Darryl) Hardy Gipson of Texas, Kerry Hardy, Cleo (Lisa) Blackwell Jr. of Topeka, Artie (Rose) Fletcher Jr. of North Carolina, Latrise Fletcher of Ohio; eleven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.

Lillie Mae "Doll Baby" will truly be missed for her best work. Thank you, Mom, Grandmother, Friend to all.
