Obituary for Asia Iquwa Tanksley
In loving memory of Asia Tanksley born February 28, 1992 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Tony and Sylvia Tanksley. She was a beautiful young woman who left us too soon on March 10, 2018.
The family moved to Topeka, Kansas where Asia attended Topeka public schools, graduating high school in May 2010. She attend WTI until her health no longer allowed her to do so.
Asia had a bright soul and loved dancing, writing, spending time with her kids, family and other loved ones. She aimed for greatness all the while enduring Sickle Cell and whatever else the world threw at her. She stayed strong for her girls. Asia was a blessing to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tony Fernandis Tanksley Sr.; maternal grandmother, Bettie L. Marisette.
Asia leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Lu'Auny Tanksley and Ya'Manie Tanksley (Topeka, KS); mother, Sylvia Madelyn Marisette Tanksley (Topeka, KS); brother, Tony (Colleen Renee) Tanksley Jr. (Topeka, KS); sisters, April (Josh) Marisette (Topeka, KS), Leandra Tanksley (Kansas City, MO); paternal grandmother, Margaret Jefferson (Leavenworth, KS); a host of aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and friends.
