Obituary for Vivian Maxine Moore (King)

Vivian Maxine Moore (King)
Vivian Maxine Moore was born October 16, 1937 from the union of Louise Martin and Ivan King in Topeka, Kansas. She was the middle child and the only girl of the three children. Vivian spent the majority of her life living in Topeka. She was raised by her grandmother after losing her mother at the age of three. After completing her primary education in the Topeka public schools, Vivian began a career in the medical field which would become the foundation of her nurturing ways.

Vivian met Ernest Moore, whom she married and from their union seven children were born: six boys and one girl. Vivian loved her children unconditionally and dedicated her life to their care and well-being. The unconditional love she had for her children was priceless.

In 1965, Vivian relocated to Pomona, California and remained until 1973 when she relocated to Rubidoux, California. Missing her childhood home, Vivian would return to Topeka, Kansas in 1978, where she would live the remainder of her life.

Vivian accepted Christ at an early age and in her last days she re-dedicated her life to the Lord. Vivian enjoyed playing bingo and if she did not win, she would say, "I got all the numbers but one." Bingo kept her motivated to keep going back in hopes that one day she would eventually get those winning numbers. While she saved fun for herself, she also enjoyed driving her friends around to help them pay their bills or attend doctor's appointment. She was a selfless person who put the needs of others before her own.

Ms. Moore is preceded in death by her father, Ivan King; her mother, Louise Martin, her maternal grandmother, Anne Pett; her brothers, Walter and James King; her sons, Ernest "Skeet" Moore III and Michael "Moose" Moore; her grandson, Aaron Moore; sister/cousin/best friend, Barbara Tompkins.

Vivian leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Tanya Moore (Kansas); sons, Larry Moore (California), Mustafa Moore (Oregon), Darius Moore (Kansas), Rico Moore (Kansas); grandchildren, Socrates Moore (California), Armond Moore (Oregon), Kizzy Moore (California), Michael Moore (Kansas), Ebonee Seeney (California), Julian Don Juan Haynes (California), Chenee Bradley (California), Denise Moore (Arizona), Rico Glenn (Kansas), Darianna Moore (California), Darius Moore (Oregon), Joe'Lonnie Moore (California), Shadonna Moore (California); great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
