Anna Kathrine Knighten was born the daughter of Mr. Garfield Hill and Mrs. Francis (East) Hill on July 15, 1950 in Hugo, Oklahoma. She passed into Eternal Life surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family.
Thirty-nine years ago, this past June, Anna was wed in holy matrimony to Douglas Leon Knighten; together they had two beautiful children one boy, Douglass Knighten and one girl, Deatramy Knighten.

Anna accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at an early age. She was a resident of Topeka, Kansas the majority of her life. She attended and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church (Topeka). She later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she became a member of Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted member of both churches where she was active in many organizations.

Anna attended Topeka Public Schools later graduating from Topeka High School in 1970. She worked in a variety of job positions ranging from working for the State of Kansas, IRS, to working with juveniles, wanting to explore different areas in the work field and fill many of shoes. She continued her education in between jobs, graduating from Data Processing, Criminal Justice and receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, all while working to expand her knowledge. She recently graduated from UMKC in 2017.

Anna was the leader of her siblings being the eldest. She enjoyed shopping “nothing like a bargain”, she enjoyed being around family, and cooking especially, Cajun foods and baked goods. She had a smile that was so unique, it would fill any room with her beauty.
