Obituary for Makyla Marie Whayne (Whayne)

Makyla Marie Whayne (Whayne)
Makyla Marie Whayne was born on May 24, 2000 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas to Anthony Whayne Jr. and Demetria Miller. She inherited her Heavenly wings on November 2, 2017.

She attended KinderCare Learning Center, Kennedy Academy, Meadows Elementary School, Jardine Middle School, Topeka West High School, Washburn Rural High School and Washburn Tech School where she studied cosmetology.

Makyla’s personality was one of the most outgoing you could ever come across. She took delight in the simplest of things like goofing around and cuddling. Sour candy was one of her favorite pleasures but never won over her love for fruit snacks and hot fries. Whenever she ate hot fries with roman noodles, she would say, “This is fire!” She was also quite fond of enchiladas, making teriyaki chicken and baking. When out and about, Makyla frequented her top three “spots”: Chipotle, Chick-fil-A and Japan Express.

Makyla loved hanging out. She loved a night in with family watching scary movies - one of her most enjoyable pastimes. And when watching TV, she was sure to find her favorites: Wild ’N Out and pretty much any standup comedy. If not with those whom she loved and adored, Makyla was cultivating her many crafts. She was the consummate artist and visionary. She loved doing hair and makeup. She was always trying new styles on her sisters. Makyla was a fashionista in every sense of the word. She loved shopping and shoes were definitely her “thing”. She loved her Jordans and would often design and customize her own shoes.

While having fun, Makyla was not short of working hard. She worked at Chuck E. Cheese’s, Wendy’s and Trampo Lazer Rockball Park. She was also perfecting her skills in prosthetic makeup and was asked to go to Hollywood to apprentice under the famed actor, Robert Englund. Makyla was endeavoring to start her own barber and CNA licensing school.

Left to cherish her amazing spirit and life is her father and stepmother, Anthony Stephen (Tereasa) Whayne Jr. (Topeka, KS); her mother, Demetria RoseAnn Miller (Topeka, KS); her stepmother, Brandie Lewis (Topeka, KS); her brothers and sisters, Dominik Whayne (Kissimmee, FL), Michael Whayne (Topeka, KS), Chazray Whayne (Topeka, KS), Elijah Whayne (Topeka, KS), Camarie Whayne (Topeka, KS), Anbria Whayne (Topeka, KS), Meresa Miller (Topeka, KS), DeAnna Emerson (Topeka, KS), Dorcylene Emerson (Topeka, KS), Apolinar Cerca Jr. (Topeka, KS), Neftali Alejandro Vazquez (Topeka, KS), Rebeka Vazquez (Topeka, KS), Nataniel Vazquez (Topeka, KS) her paternal grandmother, Rosalie Whayne (Mayetta, KS); her grandparents, Wynn Lewis (Topeka, KS), Verna Chapman (Topeka, KS); her nieces, Aniyah Whayne (Kissimmee, FL), Sariah Whayne (Topeka, KS); her paternal great-grandfather, Richard Whayne Sr. (Topeka, KS); her uncles, Ernesto Alejos (Topeka, KS), Phillip Law III (Topeka, KS), Brian (Kati) Whayne (Topeka, KS), Michael Whayne (Mayetta, KS) and her aunts, Marla Hernandez (Topeka, KS), Julie (Mark) Morris (Topeka, KS).

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Anthony Stephen Whayne Sr.; her paternal great-grandmother, Jane Whayne; her maternal grandfather, Harold Miller Jr.; her maternal grandmother, Teresa Hernandez; her maternal great-grandfather, Harold Miller Sr. and her maternal great-grandmother, Beatrice Hernandez.
