Obituary for Carolyn Jean Harrington-Griffin (Harrington)

Carolyn Jean Harrington was born in Jackson, Mississippi on February 23, 1963 to Alma Jean Tillman Harrington and the late Henry L. Kimbrough. She was the oldest of six children. Carolyn departed this earthly tabernacle on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

She confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal savior at an early age. She joined Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Asbury Mount Olive United Methodist Church in Topeka, Kansas.

Carolyn attended and graduated from Lanier High School in 1981. Her lifelong goal and accomplishment was to be a nurse and help others. Carolyn attended Jackson State University, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Washburn University and was a member of the first graduating class at Hinds Nursing Allied School in Jackson, Mississippi. Carolyn was a nurse at the VA hospital in Topeka for over 20 years. She worked at KNI for 11 years as a LPN and TARC. She loved helping others.

Carolyn met and married, Willie L. Glover of Jackson, Mississippi, and to their union three children were born, Kandace M. Glover, Quinton P. Glover and Denzel D. Glover. They later divorced and she met the love of her life, Anthony Griffin, of 20 years until her passing. She has a daughter, Dineasha Griffin and a son, Fabian Griffin that she loved as her own.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Henry L. Kimbrough.

She leaves to cherish her presence and her smile her love, Anthony Griffin (Berryton, KS); three sons, Quinton Glover (Topeka, KS), Denzel Glover (Topeka, KS) and Fabian Griffin Jr. (Topeka, KS); two daughters, Kandace Glover (Jackson, MS) and Dineasha Griffin (Topeka, KS); seven grandchildren, Zaria, Elijah, Elaysia, Zachary, Tyus, Zoe and Lillian; three sisters, Janene Patterson, Mable Kimbrough, Veronica Stovall; two brothers, Johnny Kimbrough, Henry Kimbrough and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
