Obituary for Anthony Stephen ""Tony"" Trotter

Anthony "Tony" Trotter, aka "Pretty Tony", passed away Friday, May 19, 2017. He was 55 years old. He was born August 10, 1961 in Garden City, Kansas. He was the second child born to the late
Lafayette James Trotter and Claudia Harriston Smith.

He attended schools in Garden City, Kansas; Japan; Hawaii; California: and Hutchinson, Kansas. Around the age of 21, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving four years prior to his medical discharge.

Tony married JoAnn Smith on June 5, 1993. Together they enjoyed cheering for the Denver Broncos and the KU Jayhawks. They loved traveling to places as close as Hutchinson, Kansas, and as far as Hawaii. When they were not traveling, Tony enjoyed spending time with his stepdaughter, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He also enjoyed spending time with his fur babies, Boomer (R.I.P.) and Catalina.

Tony spent the majority of his life working in the public sector, including his favorite job at the KU Athletic Department as a custodian. He also cooked and prepared many meals at the Expocentre.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lafayette James Trotter; grandmother, Corrine Smith; aunt Janice Jones and niece, Meghan Butler.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, JoAnn Trotter (Topeka, KS) mother, Claudia Harriston (Hutchinson, KS); daughter, Niya Trotter (Wichita, KS); sisters, Vonciel (Arthur Crowe) Trotter (Hutchinson, KS), Josie (Corey) Ford (Hutchinson, KS) and Michelle (Shannon) Thomas (McPherson, KS); stepdaughter, Felicia McGlory (Topeka, KS); and sister-in-law, Rita Mendoza.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who will miss their Grandpa Tony very much.
