Obituary for Robert Floyd Williams
Robert Floyd Williams, 64, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2017. He was born September 28, 1952 in Portsmouth, Virginia. Robert the son of Bennie Lee Williams Sr. and Grace Joanna Smith Williams.
The Williams family relocated to Topeka, Kansas in 1959. Robert was raised in Pierce Addition and attended Topeka Public Schools. He was a Highland Park High School graduate of the class of 1970.
Robert married Dae Nice Gay Murrell on March 22, 1970 and from this union one son was born, Robert E. Williams. Robert at a very young age was very mechanical and loved to take things apart. He stared with his little sister's "Easy Bake Oven" and eventually progressed to his passion for working on cars. When Robert was not working on cars he spent his spare time fishing. He loved to fish and if he could not be found, you knew he was on a fishing bank somewhere.
Robert was employed by ISS Facility Service as a maintenance worker.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Dae Nice and his parents, Bennie and Grace Williams.
He is survived by his children, Robert E. Williams of Richmond, California, Dommenick M. Zapata of Lawrence, Kansas and James Daniel Valdez of Topeka, Kansas; his siblings, Bennie L. Williams, Jr., Richard L. Williams, Joanna (Thomas) Tyree and Shirley Reed all of Topeka, Kansas and Betty Neal of Olathe, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins who loved him and will miss him.
