Obituary for Alfreda Marie Rayton (Rayton)
Alfreda Marie Rayton, 58, of Topeka, Kansas, came to peace at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Stormont Vail Hospital (Topeka, KS). She was born on May 7, 1958 in Lawrence, Kansas to Harry and Freda Rayton.
Alfreda is known to many as "T.D.", and was a mother to all. She was always willing to lend a hand or lend a place to stay. She raised many children throughout her life. If you needed a good meal, you knew she would give you her last bite.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Shawn (Michelle) Douglas (Topeka, KS), William Dickson, Jr. (Topeka, KS); her daughters, Rachel Rayton (Topeka, KS), Kimberly Rayton (Topeka, KS), Samantha Rayton (Topeka, KS); her brothers, Charles (Loretta) Rayton (Lawrence, KS), Gary Rayton (Topeka, KS), Clarence (Kim) Rayton (Lawrence, KS), William (Sharon) Rayton (Wichita, KS), Marvin Rayton (Lawrence, KS); sisters, Joyce Muhammad (Topeka, KS), Barbara Barfield (Topeka, KS), Jeanette Peterson (Seaside, CA); twenty-five grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Alfreda is preceded in death by her father, Harry Rayton, Sr.; her mother, Freda Rayton; brothers, Harry Rayton, Jr., Leonard Rayton, Larry Rayton, Donald Rayton; sister, Gloria Marshal; grandson, Malcolm Douglas and her granddaughter, Janessa Dickson.
