Obituary for Carole Elizabeth Peterson
Carole E Peterson, age 68 was born February 19, 1948, the daughter of Emery and Lillian Peterson in Lawrence, KS. She attended Woodlawn Elementary, Central Junior High, Lawrence High school and completed her education through a GED program.
In school Carole played violin, volleyball and ran track. She met James Winborn Jr in early adulthood. They married and had one son James Winborn III. She later divorced James Winborn Jr and found her passion in caregiving. She began her career at the Topeka State hospital and stayed employed there for over 5 years. She then met her second husband Thomas C Jackson and had another son, Craig A Jackson. After a few years of marriage they divorced and she focused on raising her two sons. Carole then moved onto Colmery O’Neil VA Medical center where she worked in psychiatric nursing. She worked there for over 25 years, until her retirement. After retirement Carole focused on her spiritual comfort with God and lived her life for Him and her family.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents Emery E Peterson and Lillian Collins-Peterson. Her brother Emery E Peterson Jr “Yo-Yo”. Carole is survived by children James Winborn III and wife Armmie Cox-Winborn. Craig Jackson and wife Amy Jackson. Grandchildren Taylor Jackson, Kaitlyn McGhee, Tyra Jackson and Colton Jackson.
