Obituary for Marie Simons (Huett)
Marie was born on February 15, 1928 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Ralph and Eleanor Huett. She was one of their six children. She had three children of her own: George, Paul and Eleanor.
At an early age, Marie decided to venture out into the world and made her way to Topeka, Kansas where she worked as a dedicated housekeeper. She truly enjoyed her work. She met Leon Conway and was happily married to him until he passed away in 1990. She later met Fred Simons and was happily married until he passed in 2005.
Marie absolutely loved to work in her garden and other yard work. She enjoyed listening to music such as gospel, blues and jazz. Marie couldn't resist dancing to her favorite songs. She enjoyed riding around town, going fishing, and playing with her cats and dogs.
Marie leaves a host of family whom she loved so very dearly behind to cherish her memories. Her step children are: Jerridea Mae Conway, Albert Lee Conway, Leon Conway, Betty Davis Hunt, Essie Conway, Glenda Conway, Lorraine Conway, Melvin Conway, Calvin Conway and Paula Rooks. Marie has many grand children and great grand children.
Marie was full of laughter and always tried to find something to smile about. She was a very happy, loving, giving and God fearing woman who will be missed so much.
