Obituary for Sherry Lynn Evans

Sherry Lynn was born on March 9, 1962 in Topeka, Kansas to Joe Bill and Deloris Ann Collyge, the sixth of ten children. She wasn't the oldest but she was Mom's "biggest baby" at birth coming in at 10 pounds. Sherry grew up as a vey happy, gentle, kind, giving and thoughtful child that was helpful with her younger siblings. Sherry attended Topeka Public Schools, but began to experience health problems during high school that didn't allow her to graduate.
Sherry worked mostly as a waitress and factory worker for various businesses in Topeka. Her hobbies included writing poetry, horticulturalist at home, collecting unicorns, making wind chimes out of beads, miniature doll houses and her 1964 El Camino. She really enjoyed decorating for the holidays and she would "go all out!"
Sherry received Jesus as her Savior and was a member of True Light Church Ministries.
Sherry was a dog person treating them like they were her own kids. Their names: Ebony, ChiChi, Slugger Skyler and Tristan. Sherry loved being around little children. Some of her favorite nieces and nephews are: Michael, Anthony, Crystal David, Jeffery and Liz Beth just to name a few.
Sherry is survived by her mother, Deloris Ann Collyge; sisters, Joann Schroller, Elaina Reyes, Susan Smith-Collyge, Evangel Cannon-Collyge, Loretta Collyge, Leslie Collyge, Ericia Collyge; and brother, Joe Collyge.
Sherry passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Bill Collyge and sister, Virginia Ellen Collyge.
