Emma Lee “Tyler” Turner was born to the union of John & Addie Tyler on March 2, 1946 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Both parents preceded her in death.

Emma professed a hope in Christ at an early age. She grew up in Mississippi and attended school there. In the early 60’s she married William Turner and moved to Lawrence, Kansas. He too preceded her in death, after 49 years of marriage.

Emma worked lots of jobs over the years, from making air plane radios, bus monitor to cook. She really enjoyed working at the schools with the little kids. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, loved to crochet, and talk with her loved ones. Emma departed this life on April 9, 2016.

She leaves to mourn her passing two sisters Ms. Tina Bruce of Chicago, IL and Ms. Velma Tyler of Florissant, MO; Six very close nieces Lynda Bruce of Alpharetta, GA, Sundra (Huey) Tubbs of Lawrence, KS, Detra Brady & Sharon (Jermaine) Walker of Saint Louis, MO, Maggie “Sally”(Eugene) Cosey of Topeka, KS and LaTonya Tyler of Hollandale, MS; Seven nephews Eric Tyler, Melvin Tyler, Patrick Tyler, Derrick Tyler, Matthew Tyler, Frederick Tyler, and Michael Tyler all in MS; Two sister-in-law’s Ms. Ceresa Stanford of Hollandale, MS & Lorraine (Shannon) Harris of Junction City, KS; two brother-in-law’s Mr. Lawrence (Pam) Turner of Lawrence, KS & Mr. Samuel Turner of Kansas City, KS, and of host of other family members and friends.
