Duane Tieree Richey was born in Topeka, KS on August 27, 1993 to Abiejuwa “Janet” Osayande and David Richey, Sr. He passed away February 27, 2016 in Kansas City, Missouri. Duane lived most of his life in Topeka, and attended Topeka West high school. He married Latrelle Vaughn on February 27, 2014. She survives.

Those who were lucky enough to know Duane would describe him as ornery, determined and full of life. He was loyal and protective of those he cared about. He brought life into any room he entered and his laughter will be greatly missed. Duane loved children, adventure, and singing (loud and off-key), but most of all he loved his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Janet; stepmom, Renee Greene; wife, Latrelle Richey; Sisters: Trell Richey, Rayanna Richey, Kayla Richey, Le’Asia Wesley, A’Myahia Williams, and Christiana Mays; Brothers: Dashauun Osayande, Letron Osayande, Jamil Williams, and Tylee-al Williams; Grandmothers: Maria Garcia (Mario), and Clara Richey; Grandpa: Victor Osayande, Sr.; Uncles: Victor Osayande, Jr., Valentine Osayande, Vincent Osayande, Anthony Gonzales (Kristyn), and Terry Richey; Aunts: Marsha Catling (Chris), Courtney Richey, and Nyree Hollister (Ann); one niece Nevah Richey; Step-siblings: Takeisha Williams, Toney Williams, and Torian Williams; In-Laws: Lewis Vaughn, Beverly Sanders, and Shabrevia Sanders; Adopted son, Jerik Williams, and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his father David Richey Sr, and Uncle Vijay Osayande. Funeral proceedings will be held at 11:00 am, Friday March 11, 2016 at Peaceful Rest Funeral Chapel. There will be a viewing starting at 10:00 that day. In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations to assist with funeral costs.
