Obituary for Mary Catherine Young (Padgett)
Mary Catherine "Cathy" Young, 54, was born on October 14, 1961 in Pitt County of North Carolina. She was the daughter of Willie Elmer and Gilda Grey Padgett.
She graduated in 1979 from Laurel Senior High School. In her younger years she enjoyed horseback riding and golf, for which she has several trophies. Along with her son, Vince, she was in a duck pin bowling league.
Throughout her life she worked as a babysitter and was self-employed. She also worked as a para-professional for Prince George County Schools in Maryland. She worked in special education for twelve years.
Cathy was of Irish-American descent. She was raised in the Episcopal Church. When her son married she joined Crestview United Methodist Church in Topeka, Kansas.
Along with her soulmate, Mark Young, she enjoyed watching television and movies. Whenever possible, she loved to spend time with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandson.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sons, Christopher Drzal of Maryland, Vincent A. DiGennaro (Janelle DiGennaro), her grandson, Vincent A. DiGennaro Jr. "Tony," borther, James G. Padgett, her boyfriend and soulmate, Mark Young.
