Obituary for Jan Demby

Jan Demby was born July 6, 1963 in Roland Fort, Mississippi the son of Richard Demby and Bertha Barfield Demby.

Jan accepted christ at an early age. He was a member of Community Missionary Baptist Church, Norman, Oklahoma.

Jan attended Lawrence Public Schools graduating from Lawrence High School. While in high school he played football as a running back and kick returner, punt returner. He attended Coffeyville Community College an Highland Jr. College where he played football as a defensive running back and wide receiver. He was a member of the 1983 National Junior College Athletic Association.

Jan worked as a paraprofessional for West Jr. High School and Lawrence, Lawrence, Kansas; a charter school in Chicago, Illinois and a private school in South Chicago, Ill. At the time of his passing he was employed at Oklahoma University in Norman, Okla.

Jan enjoyed life and spent his time enjoying family, sports, and fishing.

Jan passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. He was preceded in death by his Father, Richard Demby in 2010.

Jan is survived by his children, son, Kameron Demby; daughters, Whitney Demby, Tawana Woods and Madyson Summers; Mother Bertha Demby; brothers John Barfield, James Demby,Jerry Demby jr., Jerome Demby, Reginald Demby, Ulysses Demby and Lamar Bohonnon; one sister, Nancy Demby and a host of other relatives and friends.
